BREAKING :African Legend, Nelson Mandela Passes On

95 Years old former South African leader, Nelson Mandela has just passed on. Nelson Mandela, the revered South African anti-apartheid icon who spent 27 years in prison, led his country to democracy and became its first black president, died Thursday at home. He was 95.
“He is now resting,” said South African President Jacob Zuma. “He is now at peace.”
“Our nation as lost his greatest son,” he continued. “Our people have lost their father.”

Explosion Rocks Conoil Petrol Station Near NNPC Towers Abuja


Panic at the Central Business District
in Abuja Following a loud explosion
from a conoil filling station
near Nigeria National Petroleum
Corporation.
The petrol Tank burst into flames at a
conoil opposite NNPC toward Abuja.
No casualties recorded.
Reports say the explosion affected
several buildings across from the
offices, thereby shattering the
glasses.
Eyewitness say Conoil was
discharging fuel when the fire started
but men of the Fire service now on
the scene of the incident.
At the moment, fire trucks battling to
quench the flames.
Tweet from a citizens reporter close
to the gas station reads, “@bubusn I
have no reports of any casualties.
The immediate area around the
explosion has been cordoned off.
Didn’t observe any evacuation of
injured”
“@bubusn Location is about 500m
from my office. Felt the explosion.
First thought was that it was a bomb.
Now that seems unlikely.”

Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja temporarily closed


The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja has
been temporarily closed by officials of the Nigerian
Airspace Management Authority, NAMA, following the
breakdown of a Saudi Arabian Boeing 747 cargo plane on
the runway of the airport last night. The airport
authorities say the plane, which veered after landing at
the airport, has to be fixed before it can be evacuated
from the runway.
This closure has adversely affected all flights that are
Abuja bound as well as those that were billed to travel to
other parts of the country. Many Abuja bound passengers
are now stranded. Pic above shows passengers stranded
at the airport in Abuja this morning.
