Here Are The Issues With Boobs Implant

That men obsess over women’s boobs is no news. Indeed, Nigerian Juju megastar, King Sunny Ade, might have unwittingly lent credence to this when, in a media interview, he confessed that for a woman to turn him on, she must be heavily endowed in the chest area.

He even composed a number around the issue when, in one of his tracks, he said a woman’s true beauty lies in the denseness of her breasts.

It’s not only men that obsess over breasts, though. Ladies also considers them something of a treasure; while those in showbiz virtually see them as their unique selling point — wrongly or rightly.

A psychologist, Dr. ’Bode Akinbolawa, notes that though body shapes differ and women come in various shapes and sizes, “many women still fantasise about the so-called ideal body shape, and the breasts happen to be the defining point in this regard. It’s the main reason some women resort to plastic surgery to improve the shape and size of their breasts.”

Confidence booster?
A recent study claims that breast implant boosts women’s confidence in the bedroom. When a group of Brazilian researchers led by Dr. Paulo Guimaraes presented their findings at the annual meeting of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons in San Diego, they claim that the small study involving 45 women who completed questionnaires at two, four, and 18 months after breast implantation, reveals that the 36 subjects who didn’t develop stretch marks in the course of the cosmetic surgery reported enhanced sex lives at both four and 18 months after surgery.

Many scientists have pooh-poohed this finding, though; with a professor of psychology at Colorado College, Dr. Tomi-Ann Roberts, retorting: “The good feeling is increased because of the effort, not the thing itself.”

Roberts, who is also a member of the American Psychological Association’s Task Force on the Sexualisation of Girls, argues that the study would have been more interesting if the researchers had posed practical questions to patients regarding their new breasts, such as whether or not they interfere with jogging or breastfeeding.

Beyond cosmetics
But beyond these arguments, how healthy — or, perhaps how risky — is breast implant. What are the likely long-term effects?

For one, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons warns that stretch marks can occur if the implants are significantly larger than the original breasts were. The Brazilian researchers agree that despite the gushing about bedroom confidence among some women, those patients who end up with stretch marks post-implantation report crass dissatisfaction with their bodies.

More surgeries
Worse, the United States Food and Drug Administration warns that some of the complications and adverse outcomes of breast implants sometimes include additional surgeries, with or without removal of the device; and capsular contracture — scar tissue that forms around the implant and squeezes the implant.

Lost sensation
As with other surgical procedures, physicians warn that the initial euphoria may fade when you also consider that patients sometimes experience breast pain, as well as changes in nipple and breast sensation.

And since the implants are foreign objects introduced into the body, experts warn that they may rupture without warning, especially in cases of silicone gel-filled implants.

Cancer risk
Scientists say while breast implants do not appear to increase the risk of breast cancer, they are examining a possible link between implants and a slightly increased risk of anaplastic large cell lymphoma.

Worse still, a new study by a group of Canadian scientists, published online in the British Medical Journal, states that the presence of breast implants may hide developing tumours when women undergo X-ray screening with mammograms, so their cancer is more advanced when diagnosed.

The researchers reason, “Most implants are filled with saline solution or silicone, which are radio-obscure — that is, X-rays cannot penetrate them — so they cast a shadow, obscuring the breast tissue that lies behind them. This way, between a fifth and four fifths of the breast tissue cannot be seen.”

Consequently, experts advise that if you have breast implants and feel any pain around the implants or have other problems, you must see your physician without delay.

No mammogram
The US Food and Drug Administration warns that having breast implants can make it more difficult to get a mammogram, should the need arise. And which woman doesn’t need breast examinations, especially once you enter the vulnerable years such as age 40!

Breastfeeding
“Breast implants may make it harder for you to breastfeed,” experts say.

Recovery
As with other surgical procedures, surgeons say the breasts will be covered with gauze after the surgery, and the patient may have drainage tubes inserted, though they will be removed in a few days once the wound shows good signs of healing.

Again, they say, the patient may need to wear surgical bra as she heals.

“You’ll need to take it easy for a few days after your breast augmentation surgery. For instance, you shouldn’t do any heavy lifting for up to six weeks after getting your implants,” says the online portal, mayoclinic.com.

By the way, physicians say, you will definitely need some pain medications to get you going for some time; even as you will probably have some swelling in the area where the surgery was done.

Maintenance
The FDA warns that breast implants are not lifetime devices. “The longer a woman has them, the greater the chances that she will develop complications, some of which will require more surgery. The patient can also request additional surgeries to modify the aesthetic outcome, such as size or shape,” the agency warns.

A nurse consultant at FDA’s Centre for Devices and Radiological Health, Gretchen Burns, warns, “The life of these devices varies according to the individual. All women with implants will face additional surgeries, though no one can tell them when. While a few women have kept their original implants for 20-30 years, that is not the common experience.”

Not a pauper’s turf
Surgeons say women who have silicone gel-filled implants will need to get an MRI scan three years after the initial surgery and then about every two years to check for silent rupture. “If your implants rupture, you will need to have them removed or replaced” and the risks are high at this stage.

Why Is Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Fighting?

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West don’t seem to agree on one thing and that is the baby fashion linethey once decided to put out. Reports claim it was Kanye’s Idea and Kim went all out for it but now,Kanye doesn’t seem to trust Kim’s creativity.

According to close sources, Kim really threw herself into it because she loves fashion and also because it makes Kanye happy. But it looks like she seems desperate for him to respect her and approve of her”.
Due to the delay in production and Kanye’s desire to control the project, the source added that, “the truth of the matter is that he doesn’t think Kim has good style and he knows whatever she produces will be a direct reflection on him.” Bet Kanye doesn’t trust Kim enough to do her own thing.
However, there is a high possibility, Kim could make the transition to a full blown fashion line over the next year – just by designing custom-made clothes for Nori.
Let’s hope both would be in accordance by then.

Davido Tells It All In New Interview

In this very recent interview with Nigerian Tribune, Davido got to talk about his music, how he rose to the top, his tattoos, the young girls he's been caught on cameras with and his dad's wealth of course.
Excerpts:

You’ve achieved fame within such a short period of time. How were you able to do that?

God has had my back, always. It’s all God’s doing. From my single back then, He had said it was my time; and so I kept doing my thing, working hard, spending more time working on the music and sampling all kinds of sounds. That’s how it came about.
Before you became a big shot, what were those days of humble beginnings in the industry like?

They weren’t easy – having to prove that you could do this, or that you could be big and sell records, and then not having people believe you or want to take a chance.
I had some rough periods of even hungry days in the studio. Sometimes you got broke, but still just found one way or the other to pull through. I had plenty rough times.
What were your childhood days like?

I had a regular childhood. A whole lot of play and school, sometimes the play would just centre around music.
How did your dad feel about your decision to become a recording artiste?

He didn’t like it at first; but eventually a man understands a man’s need to do his thing and make a name for himself.
Did you drop out of school because you wanted to pursue your musical career?
Who says I dropped out? I’m in my third year in school.
How do you combine your music with your studies successfully? Has building a profession in music affected your studies in anyway?

It’s not been easy, but it’s working one way or the other. Being madly busy is not easy to cope with when you are studying; but it has no choice but to work out.
Why did you decide to go into music?

I was always going to do music as soon as I discovered my flair for it and I was working on sounds too in a studio and some of my friends used to say that I should just try doing my own thing. So, I took it up when I realised that I could actually make some decent sounds. I’ve always nurtured dreams of performing live, so it just had to be done.
Which musicians inspire you?

TuFace, PSquare and the Koko Master (Dbanj). Those guys are really something. The big things they’ve done in this industry are unforgettable. So, that’s my drive as well – to (make) a serious impact.
You travel a lot. Does your girlfriend not complain?
(Laughs) If you know say I get, and you sabi am, go ask am.
You mean you are not dating anyone now?
No.
You must have a lot of ladies trying to get your attention. How has the reception from your female fans been like?

It’s crazy, coupled with the fact that I am young, and with girls in my age group too. Here in Africa and in Europe, the female fan base is wild. I really appreciate it. When guys are feeling you while you perform and also the girls are gingered and sometimes crazier about you, it’s cool.
We have had pictures of you in bed with various kinds of ladies. How has that affected your career?

If it has had any big effect on my career, I’m not sure I know about it, because I am still doing my thing and God still has my back. God did not allow some random act of one person who felt like fooling around to now spoil my career or ruin my image.
Shebi they wanted to snap me (take my photograph)? They ‘snapped me’ and went their way…and my life goes on. That’s it.
What deals, endorsements, shows or recognition have you got that were quite memorable for you?

MTN of course. My first advert for MTN Pulse was a big deal for me. It was a great thing to be part of. Also, my shows all over Nigeria and performing in different states make me unable to decide which one is my favourite, seriously.
You perform in a state and get mad love from the crowd; and then the next state is even crazier. And that’s how it just keeps going. So, my high points are those moments when my fans show dedication, and show me love like ‘Ah, you be our guy; you be our man, you know?
Which musicians do you dream of working with internationally?
It won’t be bad working with Pitbul, David Guetta, Sean Paul, and Nicki Minaj.
Your dad is wealthy and influential. Would you say his wealth has been a propelling factor in your career?

My father is wealthy, yes, and I am thankful to God for that. One way or the other, in my music career, there’s always a point where the gratitude goes to my father and always a point where my father’s wealth has been a useful factor.
As for opening doors, well, maybe. But money is not everything and every part of it, behind the scenes of success is a lot of blood, sweat and tears.
If you were not a musician, what other career path would you have chosen?
Maybe a producer; but if you mean totally out of music, maybe one big businessman.
Reports say you were caught abroad spending fake money. How did that happen?
Go and ask the so called reporters whether na dem put fake currency for my hand. How does that even make sense? We were in Europe and spending good hard-earned money, even when the person we had a deal with was defaulting, and didn’t want to pay us.
So it was just some rubbish they cooked up to spoil our names, and get away with breaking our contract. But of course, we don pass that one, so na dem sabi.
What’s the most expensive thing you have ever pampered yourself with?
My house! But if that doesn’t count as pampering, then maybe one of my Rolexes that the price tag can give somebody ‘Apollo’.
You have so many tattoos. Are you just following the trend or you’re doing your own thing?
I feel the need to ink my skin, so I do it. Simple. It’s my desire and that’s all.
What’s the craziest thing you have ever done on stage?
(Laughs) Nothing too wild; I just kissed a girl from the stage.
Some of your fans complain that you don’t have strong lyrics but only project the elitist life?

It’s what we need to drive the sounds; those kinds of lyrics are what the industry, as it is, is moved by. I can decide now to bring out the deepest of my emotions through lyrics. And you know, they will say Davido is boring.
In your dull moments, what do you do to get back in line?
I just make a mad beat, or take a trip to somewhere of interest.
How do you relax?
I go to the most exotic resorts and lounges in any country I’m currently in. Then sometimes I like to just (relax) with my headphones and just jam for hours, undisturbed.

50 CENT THINKS KIM KARDASHIAN IS "TRASH"

The rapper – whose real name is Curtis Jackson - has always been a musical rival of Kanye’s but now he may have ignited a bigger feud after suggesting his girlfriend is “trash”.

50 Cent and Kanye West have always been rivals when it comes to their music but now they might have more to fight about since 50 seemed to diss Kanye’s girlfriend Kim Kardashian.
50, who used to date talk show host Chelsea Handler, gave an interview to XXL magazine and was asked about Kanye’s new song Perfect Bi*ch which he said is about his girlfriend Kim.
“I mean … if that man feel like she’s perfect, then she’s perfect. He could mean it and you’ll end up singing the words to it because he’s Kanye,” he said.
The rapper continued with an apparent slam on Kim.
“You know how it is? One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,” 50 said.
He then said he didn’t know if there was such a thing as a perfect chick: “I’m not sure. The smartest guys I know have lost being a bad judge of character in that area.”
Considering that 50 isn’t with his baby mama and his relationship with Vivica Fox, Ciara, and Chelsea Handler fell apart maybe he should worry about his own “judge of character” and actually make some good music for a change.
You know how Kanye is about the ladies in his life, will this set off another hip-hop beef?
